My partner was able to successfully product change his Freedom Unlimited card into the new Sapphire Reserve!
He is over 5/24 and all credit is locked so didn't want to even bother applying for new card.
The one bonus I wasn't expecting is they are currently saying no change in APR and our Freedom APR is currently 10.24% I believe.
Sweet. Congrats to your partner getting that PC. Was his current credit line on his freedom 10k and above? I was told in order to PC to the CSR it has to be at that limit or higher.
If you PC a card are you giving up the bonus for another 24 months? Or just if say one was to dip under 5/24 one can apply again and get the bonus? If that makes sense. I don't forsee converting any of my cards such as CSP to the CSR as don't want to pay that AF unless I get the 100k UR's. Although the 3x on food/Travel and 300 travel credit is nice.. Since it appears 5/24 is in effect I don't forsee myself having this card for say 22 more months lol. I was hoping with the AF they would overlook this rule kinda like the Ritz, but apparently not
Damn I wish i had 10.24 on my Chase Freedom..

Just logged into his account and it already shows the Reserve.
His APR is 10.49% after checking!

That is my concern. Nothing that I have read indicates that you are giving up the bonus for 24 months but I'm not sure I trust Chase enough not to try to say that down the road.

I'm reading if you PC CSP to Reserve, once you are under 5/24 you can downgrade back to CSP,app C$R and get whatever bonus is available at the time. Then combine CSP limit to C$R and close.
Keeping my 25K FU the 1.50x UR it works better on none catagory spend for me and no AF. For the moment all travel and dining is on Prestige for 1.60 AA redemption.
The Ritz is looking better now anyway.
Congrats to your partner on the PC!
