Product change create new account?

I'm considering doing a few product changes with some of my credit card companies.  One for Chase, one for CapOne, and one for WaMu.  And I was wondering if doing the product change would cause my reports to be updated with a new account  - obviously the card number would change and would get a new plastic - but does the account itself show as new?

I would hate for it to change my average age.  It's already bad enough as it is! lol

I did a product change with Chase, in August 2007.  My account number and credit history remained unchanged.

When I had a Capital One account (I closed it in November 2007), they changed my card from a non-rewards card to a rewards card (I did not request this change).  My account number changed, but my credit history remained unchanged.

Do make certain to ask the CCC's customer service representative about how the product change will affect your credit history.
