Product change for CSR

Hi,

I have a Chase Saphire Preferred from 11 months now with a good limit on it of 12k and now I am considering of doing a product change with the new CSR. An AF on my CSP is 95$ for first year which is due by Feb and I don't mind paying that because it's worth paying AF on it. Also have Chase Freedom unlimited with 5k. Now my question to you guys is how to app for CSR and when would be the right time? In addition to it I was able to open a total Business Checking Account a week ago in branch. I may app for Ink preffered sometime sooner/later. What do you guys think, please let me know.
As always, appreciate your help
Thank you
K

Re: Product change for CSR

You won't be eligible for a Sapphire bonus for another ~37 months, so PCing to CSR may be the way to go (rather than applying for it as a new account).

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Product change for CSR

I can never keep up with chase’s Changing bonus and card rules. Honestly I don’t even care anymore.

There’s been a lot of talk that chase is now limiting you to one card per family. So if you already have the freedom unlimited I believe the only thing you could product change to is the regular freedom.

As mentioned above you won’t be able to get the SUB for a sapphire product for quite a while so I would just PC the CSP into a CSR. If your truly interested in the regular freedom. That’s the card I would app for as you would get the bonus that way and still accomplish your goal.

+1

No SUB but if you spend a fair amount in travel and dining and get the 300$ travel credit, you should have no issues getting your money back, easier than CSP IMO.

CARDS:
AMEX CS Plat | NSL -- Chase Freedom Flex | $19,000
AMEX Gold | NSL -- Citi Double Cash | $10,000
AMEX HH NAF | $1,000 -- Uber Visa | $5,000
CSR | $29,000 -- USAA Plat | $8,000
USAA AMEX | $23,000 -- MB Boundless | $11,900 -- CFU | $3,600 -- PenFed Pathfinder | $10,000 -- MS Plat | NSL

BANKS:
NFCU | USAA | PenFed | Schwab Bank | First Bank | Chase

Where did you hear that?  If true, it’s big news.  I’ve seen nothing about such a restriction on Doctor of Credit.

Daily Carry: PenFed Power Cash • NFCU Flagship • NFCU More Rewards • Chase Freedom
Sock Drawer: PenFed Promise • NFCU cashRewards • Chase Sapphire Preferred • Chase Freedom Unlimited • United Explorer • UNFCU Azure

Op is here...That's wright but can't I do a PC from CSp to a regular freedom and then apply for CSR to get my SUbs? Or transfer the of the limit of CSP to Freexom unlimited and then apply for CSR to get my SuBs? Smiley Sad

This was a couple months ago that a rumor was circulating that chase may be limiting you to one card per family. So no more multiple freedoms but obviously the rumor didnt pan out then. I probably should have made that clearer that I was going off a rumor, but theres so many with chase its hard to keep track of what exactly pans out and what doesnt.

I know theres the One Sapphire family card rule firmly in place.

There is no way you're going to get the Sign up bonus for any sapphire card for 48 months. Chase has continually restricted the Sapphire card SUB's and they are all treated as one. No PC, limit transfer etc is going to change that.
