Discover really seems to have long memory for those that burn them. I let a card close and go to collections, which I eventually paid around 2014 and still have never been able to get a card from them since.

Have you checked the prequal recently? I've seen a few DPs suggesting they may lift the ban once the derogatory account of theirs falls off your reports (~7 years from when the account was first charged off).
I burned disco in my 2014 BK. Tues I app'd and was approved for an IT , 9.5K SL. Today the account was finally setup so I hit the love button and no Joy. Happy to have a 2nd chance just the same with a respectable SL. Looking forward to our relationship.

Note that they will very likely ask you for tax return info at some point. Whether you provide it or not is up to you, but if you don't comply, they'll of course shut you down.
Also, inb4 ptatohed says "there is no IT card."
So what does discover consider recent inquiries? Last six months, last 12 months? How many in that time frame do you think is a auto no because too much?
