Propel, Great Card Terrible Bank?

Is there a consensus on whether or not the propel is a good choice given the reputation of WF? The card itself actually seems more appealing to me than the Uber visa.

If the card suits your needs, pick it up. I havent had any issues so far with WF. I probably dont utilize it to its full potential due to low spend/ income but for those who can, great cardSmiley Happy

I agree with Joe. I love that card, I haven’t had any issue with Wells Fargo. If you Travel and eat out a lot it’s a great card.

I might be an outlier, but I've always been pleased with WF.

I'm well-aware of their past issues, but their services and products work well for me. Their branch footprint works for me and my family, and I've found them to generally be easy to do business with.

As for the Propel, I've found it to be a strong offering and so far my experience with it has been drama-free (since January 2017).  It's my go-to for 3% back on travel, and they frequently have good promos on Go Far rewards at places I actually shop.

Echoing a similar experience for as long as I've been a WF customer.  Like a variety of FIs, there's bound to be some not pleasant experiences depending on the situation as no FI will ever be a one-size-fits-all per se, but overall it's been a satisfactory experience so far even with a few minor issues which they fixed.

Nice looking card but I prefer Uber and Savor myself.

Between the two, I am covered for travel, food, entertainment, and cell phone.

Savor and Uber seem simplier too me.

Barclay allows you to move CLs around with other Barclay cards, etc.

Capital One treats me like a king.

Re: Propel, Great Card Terrible Bank?

Prior to receiving this card, I had no banking relationship with Wells Fargo and was somewhat apprehensive to even apply for the card.

The card has served me well and no issues with Wells Fargo.

Yesterday, I found their fraud department to be on top of things.  I received a text from their fraud department regarding a charge for $400 from Spain.  They declined the charge since it seemed suspicious and contacted me.  Once I stated the charge was indeed fraud, they closed the account since it had been compromised and are sending me a card with a new account number.

Echoing @UncleB and @FinStar.  I've had no issues with them and I think the card is pretty decent.  Heck I haven't had any issues with WF even on the Dillard's Amex side.  OP if it works for you then give it a shot.

Re: Propel, Great Card Terrible Bank?

I also have had nothing but great experiences with Wells Fargo. The Propel is a great card and even has decent offers on its Earn More Mall shopping portal. I also like how all of the transactions show the exact amount of points earned and are categorized  after the transactions post. There is also a bonus tracker which shows how far away you are from reaching the $3000 sign up bonus.  I would definitely recommend this credit card.

Re: Propel, Great Card Terrible Bank?

I think most people talk bad about Wells Fargo because they seem to be a bank that a lot of people deal with indirectly.

My only late account was a Dillard’s WF card. And boy was Dillard’s Card Services the worst thing in the world. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to pay my card, but WF was actually great and worked with me to get the account back to snuff.

But I don’t think WF will be working with me again anytime soon. Smiley Very Happy
