@Anonymous: They wouldn't convert my QS MC @ 4500 to a WMC simply because my PC from a Plat to a QS counted as an upgrade and even EO can only do one upgrade every six months...  I'm guessing that was the case with yours.

Exactly as I was saying. Every 6 months. Some reps think it's minimum 5k. But I know for sure its 3k for world. And 5k for elite. Good luck in any case.

It used to be the case that if you had a MC with a CL >$5K and PCed to QS, you'd get a WMC automatically.   Not sure if that's changed.   At one point, you did need a CL >$5K to get WMC for the QS, but it sounds like that might be a YMMV issue based on thread response.

Thanks for the info. If I get the CLI now, I'll calendar for 6 months to request upgrade.

I used to not care, but I HAPPENED to put our new phones onto the plat to get it done use from being SD'd and when mine was stolen/lost in the first 45 days I was SOL.

I have a plain old platinum too. (my popsicle card.lol) Would love to get that changed to a WEMC & upgrade QS to QS sig.  It's just the waiting that drives you crazy!

From what I was told, because of Cap One agreement with Visa and MasterCard, when you product change their credit card it will not allow you to change the brand of the credit card, ie MasterCard to Visa and Visa to MasterCard.

MasterCard does not have limits on the various tiers of their card. Visa has a $5K minium for the Visa Signature Card.

Folks have been saying it takes a minimum of $4K to get a WMC and $5K for a WEMC.

my 1 year old platinum mc was just upgraded to no fee quicksilver mc. 

it has $4,300 limit on it but I received the regular MC (not world, not WEC).

I actually thought it was being upgraded to quicksilver one mc with no fee, but upon receiving the card it's a quicksilver regular mc, now with chip and it's no longer a flat card (back to emboss and stuff).

I would call to see if you can get it upgraded to a WC or WEMC.
