Qatar new infinite visa coming

I just got a pre-invitation for a Qatar visa coming out May 3 and it looks like one of the iterations is an infinite visa. That should be interesting. No other info but looking forward to having another OneWorld partner credit card around.

Re: Qatar new infinite visa coming

So it looks like 2 cards, A visa infinite and a signature so low/no annual fee and a likely $500+ annual fee.

Issued by First Electronic Bank which only has 1 other product, the Destiny Mastercard which is on creditone level of scammy low credit score card

Cardless issues dozens of other cards for places like Simon Mall, TAP Airlines, LATAM Airlines, and more.

Of note however, you are only allowed to have ONE Cardless product out of their entire line up.

Though its a bit weird cause we now have like 4-5 cards that earn avios since they are mostly transferable now.

Chase has the BA, Aer Lingus, and Iberia cards which are the same pretty much but iirc all avios are basically interchangable now.

Which is actually making me happy for this card and you don't have to worry about Chase's 5/24. Plus, I don't think any of the Chase OneWorld member cards are infinite visas I could be wrong.

Was just going to respond that Cardless has issued FOTM cards a few times.  I remember that the Boston Celtics card was a FOTM and actually seemed like a great card for the cash back crowd (I think it was like 4% on restaurants and even higher on rideshare?) with no FTF and a decent SUB.  People with 800+ scores who enjoy our little hobby of applying for credit to get free stuff were also getting declined a lot for those cards.  (Credit Karma still thinks I have Poor or Fair approval odds for Credit One's products, so their underwriting appears to be at least as strict than Cardless.)

<cries in SkyTeam tears>  I think this is genuinely the only thing that makes me envious of OW people (it's certainly not the fuel surcharges; I almost booked a J flight on Iberia this week and the fees on an award were nearly the cash price of a SkyTeam member), not just that you have so many card options that can play nice with each other, but also transfer partners galore with the big 3 (MR, UR, TYP).  Meanwhile for the US and SkyTeam, it's the Amex Delta, BOA Air France/KLM, BOA Virgin Atlantic, USB Korean Air, and FNBO China Airlines cards - all different points systems and with the exceptions of AF/KL and VS, limited credit card transfer partners.  On *A, the airlines that use Miles & More at least are pretty universal like Avios, but AFAIK only Lufthansa has a card issued in the US.

Lufthansa Card Art then you have the united cards

also tbh AIG owns BA, Aer Lingus, and has heavy partial ownership of Finnair and iberia.

Yes, I have the Barclays Lufthansa Miles & More card.  What I meant was that unlike numerous airline cobranded cards issued in the US that use Avios as their currency that are more or less interchangable, this isn't an option on the SkyTeam or Star Alliance side.  The *A airlines that use Miles & More as their currency are interchangable, but Lufthansa is the only one of those airlines with a card issued in the US.

(FWIW there are other US-issued *A cards besides Barclays Lufthansa and Chase United family.  Air Canada Aeroplan (Chase), ANA (FNBO; just launched and they have been emailing me almost daily LOL), Asiana (BOA, although I think you can no longer apply for it), and TAP (Cardless).  Unfortunately they're all individual FF programs.)

First Electronic Bank... that rings a bell. 🤔

It took me a minute to confirm by digging around online, but yep, they were also behind Blispay.

For the record I never had any issues with them, although our relationship was a short one.
