So the thing I have been afraid of happened. I forgot to make a payment. I am in rebuilding mode and everything is just so tenuous right now. I have been spot on and obsessive about checking all my accts every week because I have been so afraid of missing one of something not posting. But, somehow, last Tuesday I forgot my Wayfair payment. I guess with being on vacation and holiday stuff, I just got out of my normal routine. The stupid thing is, I did actually remember it on the due date of the 20th but it was not until around 9pm CST. Well, little did I know that Wayfair (and all Comenity maybe?) has some kind of thing where their systems don't post same-day payments made after 7pm CST. Really? In 2016?
Anyway. I frantically called and, after nearly getting in to a fight with Robo Lady she finally told me the CS dept was closed for the day. I made the payment by phone ($100 on a $25 payment - I am paying back a large purchased that was financed) and hoped that "they" would see that it was made on the 20th, even thought it didn't post until the 21st. I thought I had made it but, low and behold, today there is a $25 late fee on my acct.
Frankly,. I could not care less about the late fee, though it is stupid considering that I did technically make the payment on the due date. I am most concerned about all of my re-building efforts and the impact this will have on that. I don't think it will be reported to the CB's but what will happen with my Comenity cards? The last thing I want is for them to start closing accounts just because of a non-late late payment.
I am just so beside myself about this. I was near tears the other night when I realized my payment was going to show as late. All of my hard work and this happens? I am so mad at myself over it. I have auto payments set up on my "big bank" cards but not my Comenity cards (only Wayfair has a balance).
I have only had this account since June so it's not like I have a long pay history to fall back on with them. Can someone talk me off the ledge?
