If I want to try to get, say 2 credit cards and 1 line of credit or personal loan at the same time, how should I apply?
The question I have is, how fast does the inquiry hit the credit report? Is it instantly? A few hours, days? I know having too many inquiries may cause one of these banks to balk at me, so I want to do this correctly to advance my chances.
Should I apply for the loan/line of credit at the bank, come home and hit the Internet and apply for the cards as soon as possible?
Thanks for considering answering the question
Many banks will have packages that include a line of credit, credit card, checking account, and savings account. You may be able to do a one stop shop at your bank if they offer such packages. You might be able to get all of these with one credit pull, and set up all at the same time. I bank with US bank, and they offer such products. My guess is that you may have a better chance of getting the kind of credit lines and perks most people want if you've had a good relationship with your current bank.
I bank at chase, they do not have lines of credit or personal loans.
I was thinking of going to wells fargo or there is a DATCU credit union down the street. My plan was to apply for loan and CC from Wells, and then apply for a Citi bank card? all in one day? few hours? how long till it hits report? the inquiry that is.
I don't know if inquiries are instantaneously reported, but the last time I applied for something, it was for sure there the next day.
Inquiries are instantly added. The best course of action if you intend on applying for a few different CL's is to find out which CRA's the potential creditor pulls.
If you bank with Chase, and have a good history with them, you might be better off getting one of their credit cards rather than going with Citi.

I will be applying for Citi, and then Wells Fargo. Anyone know what they pull?
No luck with chase, I dont think my scores are high enough...
What are your EQ and TU FICO scores?
Currently 676. that was with 45% utilization. I paid off all the balances 10 days ago, waiting for that to hit report. Hopefully I get a bump.. Ill wait till then to apply
Good idea! I would definitely wait too.
