Question about chase 5/24

EDIT: changed my mind. Im going to wait another year which will put me at 1/24 of new accounts.

I want to open a new chase CC and then move the limit to my amazon visa. As my CL wont budge. Some others have had success with doing it this way?

right now, im at 4/24 in new accounts. Am i safe in applying for new chase CC and then moving that limit to my amazon card.

EDIT: Decided to keep the card open, but question still remains. Am i safe at applying with 4/24 in new accounts.

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If its a no AF card, then why close it?

If it is an AF card, why not use it for a year since youve already paid?

I dont think opening and closing to allocate SLs is good practice and I'm sure Chase would agree.

Thanks for your reply.

closing it wasnt a for sure thing. I will more than likely keep. I was just going over all my options

if i keep it open, am i safe at applying for the new chase card if im currently at 4/24 in new accounts. The new chase card would put me at 5/24.

If you're at 4/24, then you're not afoul of the 5/24 rule.

As to whether you're 'safe' or not, that depends on lots of other factors.

@Writechecks1  Chase recently changed their limit increase policy to them being soft pulls.  You still have to unfreeze your credit but rest assured it'll only be a soft inquiry.  I've found success calling them on the phone and doing it via a secure message.  Whenever I tried to ask on the app or website it would say my account currently isn't eligible.  Best wishes to you when you make your request!
