Question on Amex backdating...

Following up on a prior "blacklisted" Amex thread, I received my Amex card today.  I logged onto my account and saw "Member since 1990."

So, will my tradeline on this account be automatically backdated to 1990 on the various credit reports?  Do I simply call csr and request a replacement card with my original membership date?

Thanks!

Yes it generally does, it did for me... can follow up w/ credit reporting office in the unlikely event the older date doesn't appear.

I received my Amex Green today in the mail too.  The card as a Member Since date of 2011...but when I log onto my account it says since 1982.  From what I've gathered it should report the 1982 date as the open date.  I am soooo stoked!!

Re: Question on Amex backdating...

Whatever your member since date online says is what will be reported. If you want your new card to say that, just call the number on the back of your card, and follow the automated prompts for card replacement. Just explain you want a card with your correct member since date. Easy peasy.

According to what I've read on here and various forums, you're card should report 1995 though it will read "11" on the card you receive.  When you log onto account summary, it'll report "Member since 1995."

...and I assume every additional Amex-issued product will have the same opening date?
