According to what I've read on here and various forums, you're card should report 1995 though it will read "11" on the card you receive.  When you log onto account summary, it'll report "Member since 1995."

 


...and I assume every additional Amex-issued product will have the same opening date?

Ya'll almost have me talked into finding someone with a 30 year old Amex and have myself addded as an AU.  Smiley Happy

According to what I've read on here and various forums, you're card should report 1995 though it will read "11" on the card you receive.  When you log onto account summary, it'll report "Member since 1995."

Even the ones closed (to avoid fees, make room) will continue to benefit AAoA for up to ten years Smiley Happy

So, if I'm inclined to, what's to stop me from just opening an Amex no fee card, never use it, and have it increase my AAOA?  I suppose, we'd have to look at the adverse effect of an inquiry taking on a new credit line juxtiposed by whatever potential score gains on the increase of account age.

They track usage very closely, so restraint is well advised but multiple products are possible even with relatively limited use.
