Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
So I've currently been building my credit for the last 18 months - started at like 590, now up to 670. Have a mortgage (February), but the issue is credit cards. For the last 5 years, I've had 4: 2 from Capital One and 2 from Orchard Bank. Obviously, these cards were designed to help me establish/improve my credit. As such, I currently have limits of $750 and $500 (CapOne) and $850 and $600 from Orchard Bank.
I've tried multiple times over the last 5 years for various CLIs. At times I've carried a balance, most times I haven't. I've typically been denied every time, but recently got one CLI for Orchard Bank for $250 (sarcastic cheer!).
I want to continue to improve my credit score by responsibly using my cards, but none of these four are really helping me because the limits are so low. So recently, I've applied for a Bank of America 1-2-3 card and was approved with a $2k limit. I also applied for a Discover it card and was approved with a $5.5k limit.
My question is, what's next? I'd ideally like to get rid of the Capital One and Orchard Bank cards because the customer service stinks and the cards aren't growing with me. Should I try and open one more with a good ($2-5k) limit and then close the CapOne and OB cards? My thinking is that another card would offset the closing of those two. Does anyone know if it's possible to "transfer" to a different account type with CapOne so that my length of credit history stays the same, but I am not put in the "rebuilding credit" bucket? Or should I just leave them and not use them? I should point out I have a $0 balance on all four.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

A lot of members have had success calling the Cap 1 executive office. You may ask them to combine the limits on the two Cap 1 Cards, and change you to a different product type.
If they do that, then definately close 3 and keep 1
Great, thanks for the reply. I've currently contacted Capital One via Twitter, and they've said someone will be in touch via phone shortly. I'll try to consolidate down to one rewards card with a high limit and close the rest.
Are there any other suggestions out there?
