RE: Preapprovals invites

I have been reading past threads regarding preapproval invites.  I have never received a preapproval invite to my knowledge.   I did receive an offer to apply  for an  Best Buy VISA  which I disregarded.  The offer said I may be approved based on my credit file, but that is true for any credit vehicle, be it a loan or a card.  So, was that offer that I received a preapproval or no?  How do you get on the preapproval list?  Is it a certain FICO level that you have to reach?  Happy Hollies to one and all!

Re: RE: Preapprovals invites

Merry X'mas everyone!

indiasnowden,  are you looking for to receive pre-approved offer?

I sees you has been improved your score in past five months.  Light now, I am not even getting those offers as used to be neither.   I do receives BT offers from my current cccs ... that's it for now.  So, I believe it has to do with the economy.  As long as you keep improving your score, you may receive an offer one day ... just IMO.   Keep your head up!  Smiley Wink

Re: RE: Preapprovals invites

I didn't start getting pre-approvals for good cards until my score went over 700. (I got offers from crappy, high-fee cards all the time below 700). But there is stil no guarantee, even with a pre-approval - they just set a parameter like "score over 700, no negatives in the past year" and send pre-approvals to all those people. There still might be something in your history that would keep you from being approved.

Re: RE: Preapprovals invites

As your score goes up you also stop getting dunned with preapprovals from World Finance, Orchid, and those other high-interest-no-credit-check-required-rent-2-own places as well.  But I actually chose to opt to receive unsolicited mailouts out because there was some offer or another every blesed day.
