Random Question about Reporting

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I was just curious if it was OK to ask CCC's to report current utilization? The wife and I have busted our humps to get our util to <9% and I want to see that reflected the next time I pull our scores, but noticed that the CCC's don't report to all 3 bureaus every month and some haven't reported since last year! Just wondering if it's out of place to request that they publish my util? Thanks!!

Re: Random Question about Reporting

Congrats on bringing you utilization down!! keep up the good work.

Most (all?) credit card companies report every month the the CRAs. Usually this occurs on your statement cut date, sometimes at the end of the month. AMEX is notorious for being a couple of months behind. What ccc are not reporting?

You could certainly call and ask the CSR when their company updates information with the CRAs. You could also ask for an intercycle update. Are you looking ot make a major purchase (car or house) and need the update ASAP or are you just curious?

Re: Random Question about Reporting

HSBC and Orchard (same bank, really) tend to go walkabout every now and again.

Re: Random Question about Reporting

My Costco Amex reported once in 5 months. I guess that's no consolation.

Re: Random Question about Reporting

Oh, and almost forgot --many retail cards won't report unless you have a balance. J.Crew was so bad with me that they wouldn't update to say that, oh by the way, I paid the bill, so it would display for months. I had to dispute with the CRA's to stir them up, and now they seem to behave. Exasperating, though.

This isn't true of all store cards, luckily.
