I applied for a cabela visa card on the the 17th of December online. they approved me that same night and my credit score was 750. I contacted two days later to see if they could give me my credit limit and account number so I could do some online orders for xmas. on the 21 DCE I received a letter stating they were unable to extend me credit based on info from my application bases on what experience said and if I had any problems write them. I contacted them same day and they automatically transferred me to the fraud dept. I asked why they told me they needed more info about my income identity. I told them I am a disabled war vet who collects SSID and VA compensation I don't have get paycheck stubs they told go to my bank get a bank statement and have the bank sign off along with a copy of my drivers license back and front and have the bank notarize it info fax. I asked the rep then could I get my card and same number plus same limit she said yes. I did not hear from them for several days so I called back they stated the info I gave them was not good enough and that I needed to show other proof of income. I asked them if a copy of my VA compensation award letter was good enough they said it should be. during the phone conversation they asked what was my relationship with cabela was and why do I want there card. it old them none of your business do you asked all your clients that they said in fraud cases they do I told them this is me im not fraud they said they wanted to make sure they get their money. I said if this was fraud I would not be calling you they said they have had cases in the past like mine. third call they said just provide a notarize letter from the VA instead VA faxed my info directly to them. I called they said received it but is was not good enough so on Feb. 21 they denied me my credit card I told them I feel like this is discrimination because of my color and being a disabled war vet. the last conversation I had with them the rep said why are you calling we was not going to extend credit based on unable to verify info on application I said you need to give me a reason my credit is good and I pay my bills on time and in my 44 years I have never went thru something like this for a credit card I faxed my license twice. they even asked for my banks number and I gave it to them and two days later on the phone they asked for my banks number when I gave it to them already

Mods may want to make this a new thread, it has nothing to do with Capital One.
I am guessing they are kinda busy right now.
