Received APR Reduction on WAMU Card

I'm banging my head against the wall. I just got my hopes up, in light of your success, and tried to call again - got the same "periodic review blah blah" message. In other words - they're not interested. Gah.

So, what number did you call? Is it the 866-892-9268 number? If not - will you share the number you used?

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

I just finally talked to someone who was willing to listen to me and not read from the script...he gave me the 19.9% fixed!! Granted it's not the best rate in the world, but it's a heck of a lot better than the 31.99%! And I only had to have a little baby meltdown on the phone!

Still not going to use the card much (I hold a mean grudge), but hey, at least I'm not at a default rate anymore. Yippee!!

That's a great feeling isn't it?  I think their initial response is to say no, but I was persistent and asked to speak to a supervisor.

I'm so happy for you!  Now I have to get to work on Discover and BOA.

I too have that obscene APR on my old Providian card as well. Think I'll call today and see if an interest rate cut is available for that card as well.
