Recent AMEX Credit Card Apps??

 I am thinking that AMEX is really drawing back on credit card issuance. Has anyone applied for any AMEX credit cards (not charge cards) in the last 3 months? If so what was your outcome?

Yes! July 9, 2009 Denied.   August 8, 2009 Denied.  I got fed up and ask for a recon since my credit was pristine and got approve for $2000.  The card appeared on my credit reports today.  I have the Blue card.

Yes, instantly approved for the Costco Amex True Earnings card on 10/4/09.  CL is $2K - it appears that is the CL they give most people approved at the Costco membership counter, as they don't even enter salary information. 

I wonder if they are in a credit mood right now because holidays are so close.  I spend a ton at Costco during Christmas, so the points will be awesome.

No Costco where I live.  That is only reason why I haven't apped for the Costco Amex.

Instantly approved for the Amex Blue Sky on July 1 for 8k!!!

Yes, approved online for Amex Delta skymiles with CL 4k in Sep.

Instant approval for a Business Simply Cash on Oct 1st  $3000 limit.  Asked as to why limit so low, I was told they put it through there proprietory

system and that was the limit. I have other 10k plus both personal and business <2 % utilization.  I would say they are cutting back.

Approved for personal Blue $4500 personal In April   09 was offered instant 30k rewards convereted into $300 in gift cards to take this card.

I have an Amex Platinum Cash Rewards card with a $50 k limit. In August, I opened a Rewards Plus Gold card with no annual fee for the first year since they sent me an offer of 50,000 membership rewards points. Last week I tried to add the Flexible spending option to it and they turned me down. I guess that they are cutting down on offering new revolving credit.

Now, a lot of posters here on the boards say that Amex will predate Costco True Earnings cards back to date of membership.  Does it actually appear that way on CRBs?
