Hi,
Just exploring our options...need your feedback/ideas/recommendations.
My wife and I have 3 cards each to our names (for the purpose of rebuilding our credit so that we qualify for mortgage!) Now that we have mortgage almost 4 months.
She uses AmEx BCE the most (I'm AU on it). No AF. Now $20k CL
She also have Barclay Rewards, haven't used it nearly a year! $900 CL
She also have C1 Quicksliver with $39 AF, again rarely used it! $1.5k CL
She wants to keep AmEx but wants a better Visa card with rewards (cash) and no AF, if possible, what do you recommend she app for? She is also unsure what home improvement card she also app (for kitchen appliances and any future home projects).
Now for me, I have Discover that I plan to keep because of good rewards. I also have Barclay Rewards that I let it auto-debited $3 a month from Apple (LOL). Other than that, I don't use it. Same goes for Capital One QS with no AF. What card should I app for? Keep in mind, I filed BK7 3 years ago and have been rebuilding nicely. As an AU on her AmEx, I use that the most thou'. I also got approved for Sears MC for $5,000 few days after we purchased a house for Washer and Dryer. Now I don't like Sears due to all the BS I have been dealing with them. I'm almost paid off with no interest and fully intend to close that crap card!!!!
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

I would keep all the cards for now. I would try to upgrade the QS with the annual fee to one without an annual fee.
I would pc the QS1 to the QS. The bk will continue to hold you back from some cards til 5 years or drop off. YRMV. A lot has to do with lifestyle. There are 2% cards general, 6% grocery cards, gas card 5 cent gal., home improvement cards, dining out cards as well as travel ff/hotel points. and Amazon cards. If you are a pif family then some of these are for you. What is good for you may not be good for another person.
