One of my parents was approved for a Chase marriott card, and I asked to be added as an authrized user for a very stupid reason (the card is made of metal).
I would like to apply for a Chase Freedom card, and was researchig the 5/24 rule, and found that some people reported AU cards as being included in the rule. Because of this, I have 6 different cards opened in the last year (two of my own, and four authorized user cards).
The card has 1 month of history reporting so far, not sure when the second month will show up but it should be soon, I'm going to have myself removed as an AU as soon as possible.
So my question is this, would it be possible to remove this card from my report? And if so, how should I go about doing that, calling Chase directely or contacting the credit bureaus?

Welcome to MyFico. First, you or your parents need to call Chase to have you removed as an AU. That may result in the account being removed from your reports. If not then you need to file a dispute with the various CRAs.
Well I had my mom call up Chase to remove me as an AU, then she asked about getting the account removed from my credit report, they transferered her to the credit bruearu department (cant't remmber the exact name but was something like that) who told her that I would have to call up to get it done. I was right there so she passed the phone to me and they verified my info, (name, address, SSN etc.), then stated that they would have to do a soft pull to locate the account to be removed, then said it would be removed in 3-5 days. Was pretty simple to do, glad I don't have to contact all three agencies, that would have been a hassle.
Thanks. I've been removing DH and I from some of each others cards. I guess I need to contact Chase and Discover (so far) and do the next step.

This is good to know.
I'll just add for anybody else reading, if you have problems reaching the correct department with the card issuer, a dispute with each credit bureau will work as well. I've had to do this for myself a few times, and I've done it for a grandparent as well. Each time, the account was promptly removed from the credit report.
Of course, this assumes the person has first been removed as an AU from the account!
