I hope them dropping the spend to 3k isnt the seasons bonus.   eeek

The 3k spend has been around for several months.. This is nothing new.. Only difference I can tell between the 3k and 4k spend is 3k spend nights are good for 6 months after meeting spend or posted and the 4k they are good for 12 months.   From reading offer details.. On other hand if it was just points it would just be a better deal overallSmiley Happy

The $3k spend must be made in 3 mths of account opening AND must be redeemed in 6 months? Right?  If you're planning a trip more than 6 months out, I think the 70k with AF waived (please come back offer!) for personal Marriot seems a bit better...doesn't expire does it?  It's the expiration of points that bothers me.

The 70k offer is still around on the marriot I believe until the end of the year or maybe not, deleted the link to not be temptedSmiley Happy

That is correct on the 3k offer.. It all depends on what you are looking for in a card as the Marriott is certainly a great card as you get one night per year as well included in the AF, but really can't compare the two cards as they are two separate cards and serve two separate purposes.. Ritz is more an all around travel(Lounge access, airline credits, primary rental car coverage, etc)  card and Marriott is more of just a hotel card.    The 70k offer is certainly a good one though on the Marriott.

Re: Ritz Carlton Rewards

The link was still valid on 12/6 and allowed me to apply through it. I think this is the one:

Shall I set the microwave to defrost? Or perhaps fill the sink with warm water??

Re: Ritz Carlton Rewards

The 80K points isn't necessarily better than the 70K offer because the latter does not have an AF while the 80K one has a $95 AF so they kinda even out.

I would agree just depends what 10k points are worth?

Anyways here is the 70k link as well as they are both active... Kinda weird it disappeared from my Marriott account page recently.

LOL nah, Chase has been very generous to me this last month in giving me 30k in new credit.. I will await until next year and stick with my plan for trying to garden!

Re: Ritz Carlton Rewards

80k link gives a 7.5k bonus for adding an AU and making a purchase within first 3mo. Didn't see that on the 70k. The 17.5k difference is enough to get another free night up to a Tier 3 hotel
