I joined the waitlist for this card last week. I do not currently have an account with Robinhood, but would not be opposed to looking into investing with them. So I am interested to see how this waitlist works.
I wonder, down the road, if no longer having a Robinhood Gold account (ie, cancelling your susbscription to that tier but retaining the lower level account) would cancel your CC, or downgrade it.

I also had the same question to myself and as I was applying I was informed via the app that the yearly Gold fee would be taken directly out of my gold card. But before I applied I made sure to take them up on a free 30 days of Gold and I assume that's why I haven't been charged yet. I'm expecting an automatic $50 annual Robinhood Gold charge after my thirty days but we'll see. And I still wonder what would happen if I tried to cancel in a year but.. isn't everyone expecting them to claw back on the 3% / claiming it isn't sustainable anyway? Time will tell I suppose.
Looks like there's a couple alternative methods to getting the card now. One is, it has a chance to show on Credit Karma as a card you can apply for. And then another is, involving CK as well there's a backdoor method, not sure its allowed to be posted here, but check out reddit's credit card sub and its a post about robinhood in the last week, shouldn't be hard to find.
A third alternative method is apparently if you have enough assets (somewhere between 600K and 1M+) and message your special high tier support you can get moved off the waiting list.
i got it with Credit Karma but on reddit there guide step by step how do it with credit karma
