Wow they're quite annoying. It's like she would NOT let me close it.
Finally after the 10th time of saying " no thanks that's fine I just want to close it," she finally said "ok you'll receive a statement showing its being closed." And then hung up.....
Ummmm does that mean its closed?? Lol. That's a bit sketchy to me...
I would check on it for a little bit (not sure how long, someone here might be able to answer that one), they are known to tack on a fee and catch you with a balance, then send you to collections. Just keep an eye on it. They are VERY sketchy

I was talked into getting a first premier card last July when at a credit repair company. It only has a $300 limit and I'm pretty sure it has a 75$ AF. I haven't used it in months and it has a zero balance reporting. I was leaving it open to help with my AAoA and UTL.
I have heard that when applying for new credit some people look at FP as a red flag. I will be applying for NFCU membership and a CC from them as well as care credit, in the next few weeks. If the FP is there will this negatively affect me?
I don't want to pay the AF again, so I will probably close it. But if it will HELP me obtain new credit then I will leave it open. But if it will hurt me then I will close it before I apply for the new credit.
Pragmatically, as soon as you receive a couple of no-fee, higher limit cards, sub-prime cards such as FP have exhausted their usefulness. I would personally close it if they will not give you a decent CLI or waive/cancel the AF. Good luck.

LOL. I did today!! It was hard bc the woman wouldn't take no for an answer. And I'm skeptical that it's even closed with the way she was acting...seemed sketch to me. Ill have to keep checking to make sure it's closed with no fees
I had that same problem with FP. I would call back tommorow and make sure its closed out!!!

Oh great. Does that mean they have a rep for not actually closing?
They have a rep for incompetant and ignorant CSR's. I would check just to be on the safe side!
