75,000 "points" (until renamed later), not Starpoints - big difference.
According to TPG valuation, that would be $675 (Marriott point = $0.009). According to my own personal experience from cashing in Marriott points over the past 17 months, more like $1875 (Marriott point = $0.025).
And what do you use your Marriott points for again, K-in-Boston? I'm sure I don't have millions of points like you do, but once my Starpoints turn into 'points' and I'm 'legit approved' for the Marriott Biz, I'll have a little over 170k.
My last four redemptions:
A lot of those nights involved $1000+/night rooms. Although I have averaged about 7.5 cents per Starpoint, I know that my particular reedemptions and their timing had everything to do with that and I still won't make a blanket statement that Marriott points are worth 2.5 cents, but they certainly can be.

My last four redemptions:
- 5 nights including the 150th Canada Day at Delta Hotels Toronto.
- 3 nights over New Years at New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
- 6 nights in April at the Paris Marriott Champs Elysees Hotel.
- Flights + Hotel package for upcoming 7 nights in a suite at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington + 120k Virgin Atlantic miles used toward Premium round-trip BOS-LHR.

Geez... those sound like some very nice redemptions! I need to get on your level!
Thanks! This is where @simplynoir needs to step in and detail his upcoming Japanese trip where I'm pretty sure he managed to get 100% back from his 2017 and 2018 spending in travel, or $1.00 per Starpoint.

I may have exaggerated "a little."

Not before the programs are completely combined; you'll need to enter your SPG number, or a new SPG number will be assigned to you, which will likely be changed very quickly to a new Marriott number.
@Anonymous @K-in-Boston. I'll wait until they merged the accounts then by Aug 18.

First off K-i-B just wanted to say I'm staying at the Delta Hotels in Toronto for this business trip and IMHO it's probably the nicest "non-elite" hotel I've ever stayed at. Definitely marking this as a city/hotel to come back to when I get the chance.
As for the trip next year I'll eventually make an actual post on what it all cost points and cash wise in the garden thread (K-i-B has a good idea with the PMs we exchanged about it) but definitely made it worth every penny I spent getting it. I don't think I'll get better value than what I got especially once all these Marriott changes come into effect devaluing a lot of things in comparison.

He mainly posted it in the garden.

I am staying 6 nights at Ritz Carlton in Aruba in March. For the cheapest room during those dates is 1100 a night. So $6600 cost. I am paying 300k Marriott points. So 2.2 cents per point.
Were your Marriott points converted from Starpoints? If yes, your redemption is 6.6 cpp.
