Safe to Make Amex Everyday My Only Amex?

I have an Amex Everyday and a Green Card, but I have been debating closing the Green and just letting the Everyday be my only Amex.

The thing that concerns me about this plan is just that the Everyday is a legacy card you cannot get anymore, and the product change options are essentially nonexistent at the moment. I would like to maintain a credit card with Amex long term, and I am wondering if I am setting myself up for issues if I go all in on the Everyday.

I know Amex has historically allowed discontinued cards for long periods of time. But are they likely to open up a product change option for my account if they decide to end the card entirely?

Just looking for perspectives from people who have longer term experience using Amex. I know no one is going to be able to say anything with certainty.

As long as you are happy with this card, then there's no reason to change.

For me, I would make sure you have a Visa and a Mastercard as a backup.

The MR points are not that great a redemption rate but at least there are benefits!

(disclosure - I have the same card also just sitting there waiting for good offers to be displayed once logged in!)

You could always apply for another Amex later. It's not like a lapse in cardmembership disqualifies you.

Keep the everyday card as long as you can. It's a no annual fee card to keep your MR balance intact. They don't currently have a no annual fee MR card and you can't PC to one.

You don't really need one just to open business cards with AMEX. If you've got a side hustle pulling in $1K or more a year, you can apply as a sole prop with $1K business income (the application won't let you proceed if you don't put down four digits) and your SSN.

You don't have to. Just put in your name of whatever etc they will approve it. Its base on your credit worthiness and no proof required. Got one a year ago. One of the best cards I got. So many things are not covered by stuff its a powerfull card for MR points.

Now when it comes time to say increase the limit they will ask for some things. They scanned my checking account looking for business transactions saw none they wanted so did not get it lol. Got a 20k increase on my Amex BCP card and simply transfered some of that line of credit to it..problem solved.

Usally they are running a easy bonus which is not wrapped up with the consumer line ones and zero interest for first year.

Thankfully my MR needs are covered by my Platinum card, but if I ever do go through with closing it then I'll check in to the BBP as a placeholder for MR points.

I'm extremely risk-averse with Amex so I've never explored the business side. That said, I need to form an LLC anyway for our rental properties so maybe I need to dig in to business card offers. We certainly have qualified expenses...
