So I just got a preapproval from Sally Beauty rewards credit card which is a place I frequent often, the sign up deal isn't bad with $20 off a $50 purchase and the perks seem good. My only concern is it's another Comenity card and I have quite a few already... what to do what to do?
While the preapproval may seem enticingly delicious, you don't have to bite. I believe they have a separate rewards program that you can use without having the Sally Beauty CC. That said, only you can decide if this just adds another slow-growing [close ended] store CC to your arsenal.
Just curious, how many Comenity CCs do you currently have?
Too many. I have Express with $500
VS $500
Sephora $500
Hot Topic $450
The Children's Place $500
Justice $350
Well, it appears you have a good assortment of some Comenity store CCs and a good baseline. How long have you had these? Do you also have a good balance or number of major CCs?
I haven't been at this for too long still but I have Discover with $1600
NFCU cash back rewards 2,000
Citi double cash back $600
Walmart Mastercard 1,000
Target Red Card $500
Cap One Quicksilver $500
I also have the dreaded credit one card with $600 that I need to close soon.
My oldest two Comenity cards are vs and express that I've had almost 2 years

Thanks for providing the additional data points. I would say you're doing a very great job with what you have at the moment. If your overall utilization is in check or within acceptable levels, then by all means get rid of the Credit One card. Is there a balance on it at the moment or are you paying a monthly fee?
Personally, I would hold off with any impacts to your AAoA/AoYA by opening another store CC. Now, if this were a pre-qualified offer from a major bank or CU, then I would seriously give that more weight. Just my .02¢
