Samsung Pay - Discover - Costco question

So, I just received my new Discover It card and added it to my Samsung Pay. I use Samsung Pay at Costco, but I've only had Samsung Pay attached to a Visa until now. I know Visa is the only physical credit card Costco takes now; my question is: does it matter what card type it is (Visa/MC, Discover, AMEX) if you use Samsung Pay?

No matter how you’re paying they will only accept Visa unfortunately.

Unless it's a debit card. My debit card is a MC, and it's never an issue using it when I need to at Costco.

I think with Samsung Pay and Apple Pay you are still using the card you select to pay with, it is just they carry the card encrypted over their technology at the check out.

I know that is how it is working that way with Apple Pay for me. All my rewards are piped through on the card I select at the time.

To get your quarter you can buy costco gift cards with disco and use them in store or use it online.
