Savor one question

Hi everyone
I was recently approved for savor one with a low limit of $ 750. The weird thing is I already have a quicksilver card with a 1500 $ limit and a few other cards with much higher limits. My credit score is 715 with trans union and 670 with Experian so I’m just confused as to why I would be approved with such a low limit.
If anyone has any insight or advice I would appreciate it. I’m wondering if I should call them to get a higher limit.

Re: Savor one question

Hard to say given only the info about your credit profile that you’ve provided. Just by that, however, a sub-700 score means that you most likely have some derogatory marks on your reports. Yes?

Capital One does not recon limits.

Re: Savor one question

Hi @Anonymous, welcome to the forums.

Based on the preliminary information you provided, it appears they weren't comfortable with extending anything higher at this time. Nonetheless, an approval👍

What is the source of your scores? If those are FICO scores, what is keeping them suppressed? What other accounts besides Capital One do you have?

Re: Savor one question

Congrats on your approval, Cap1 doesn't like extending credit for everyone if you ask me.

Re: Savor one question

My FICO is 673 ( I started in the low 500s 2 years ago) I have 2 unpaid medical bills from a few years ago but other than that my report is clean.
My other cards are:
Citi double cash (cl 1000)
Capital one quick silver( cl 1500)
Discover it (cL 4500)
BECU visa ( cl 10,000)

I guess the main reason I was surprised is because I’ve already been a customer with cap one for 2 years with a higher limit on another card and it seems they are treating me as a brand new customer.

Re: Savor one question

Does your QS get a lot of spend? Capital One could be thinking you're just not going to use the card. Since you have the DC, I'm assuming the answer is no on the QS spend.

Re: Savor one question

Your scores imo are fine for a higher CL cap1 card as what they consider excellent credit would make other lenders giggle.  Many factors go into limit other than scores.  Your whole profile, etc.  Still strange a lower CL than your previous card imo.

Re: Savor one question

Might it be your utilization? I've gotten a couple "you are a valued customer" "pre-approved for _____" messages on my CapOne home page. II don't remember exact wording, but it states that if my credit has changed, usage is different than when offer was extended, they may not approve, or give lower limits, etc.
