Re: Sears Card

Hi,
I actually called recently and was told that they never decrease the APR. When i asked for the reasoning, I was told because they have such great in store deals.  Well guess what, i'm paying off my debt so that doesn't really help me out.. I also called Lane Bryant and was told the same thing.. This may be starting to become the norm !!

Has anyone had any luck getting the APR decreased on the store card.  I have called every month for the past 6 months.  PIF right after purchase.  Use other cards for bigger purchases because of the APR.

thanks

Re: Sears Card

I got my APR reduced to 0% with a minimum monthly payment of $50.00 for 5 months. But the woman I spoke with talked me into account care, which cost me 46.00 a month so my balance went down like 12 dollars! She didn't explain that of course. I cancelled account care several times and have still been charged for it. I even got letters telling me they reinstated me as a courtesy. Also despite the fact that I've been paying for months now my credit history shows no payment for 60 days three times b/c i am still over limit. My card was not over limit until i racked up so many finance charges from them in the first place. BTW has anyone hears of the 2 people from Massachusetts who sued Sears CC b/c Sears encouraged them to pay down their balance despite the fact that they have each filed for bankruptcy?

Re: Sears Card

Just like Home Depot and other Citi backed store cards- use it for 0% offers or PIF

Re: Sears Card

I have had a Sears store card since 2001 and my CL remains unchanged at $250. I also got the 28.99% APR. Blah...

Re: Sears Card

After reading this thread, I looked what mine was at 18.33%  on regular purchases and 24.24% on Cash Access. I really didn't even know what it was.
