Re: Secured Credit Cards.

I just want to say that I've had a BofA Secured card since 2007 and it's never graduated. My credit scores are in the 700's and I have plenty of other cards. This card has been a waste of time. I did call them in 2010 about graduating it to an Unsecured and they did a hard pull on all three files and DENIED ME! I couldn't believe it. I could call them again and try but I have a bad taste in my mouth and have other lines that are better. The only reason I'm keeping it is because of the age at this point until I get a mortgage this year and them I'm closing it for sure.

Re: Secured Credit Cards.

Only have heard one other incidence of BOFA's not unsecuring at the 12 month mark; that one was clearly not going to happen as that individual made no improvement over the first year of the card.  Not sure what your status was at the similar time period.

As for graduation, they did not send me a new card when the last one I had graduated.  That might've changed since then.  Recent graduation posts here involved a PC to CashRewards or other rewards package, and there they do issue a new card... on my old one the only thing that changed was I got 2K back in my bank account, and the tradeline took off the "secured" tag.  Kept the same card for a year following.
