Hello! I just wanted to know what company offers a secured credit card to a considered "poor" credit cunsumers. My scores are below, please let me know where i possibly can have some success! I am trying to rebuild my credit as well, I just need some guidance. I don't know where to start at all....
Thanks!
are you a member of any credit unions?
I was a member of Neighbors FCU but I lost my job and my accounts ended up being closed with them. I had a credit card with NFCU, which was closed, and I'm now paying it back. So I only have a chase account now.
I would ask NavyFed if they would be willing to reopen your account once paid...any other negatives on your report?
Differently don't burn NFCU they are one of the most generous CC lenders in the country you will need them in your rebuilding.
They agreed to let me reopen my account once i paid of f the debt. I have like 6 things in collections. 2 student loans, 1 item for cox communications, 1 thing for my old apartment that i had to move out of, 1 medical bill and 2 payday loans, 1 of which i have paid and owe half and the other is a cell phone bill. I'm totally lost, I dont know whether to pay it b/c i dont know if it will help my score or not...
I started with a secured Cap One in August of last year. They won't "upgrade" you (to un-secured) but once you've established some history with them you can apply for an unsecured card. I did in April of this year & was approved & they've been extremely generous with CLI since.

Thank you, i will try one cap one and see if they let me, I hate to run my poor credit again but I'll do whatever it takes to get back on top like i once was! Thanks for responding!
Yes, you should definitely pay it back to NFCU. I don't know how they are with going after debtors, but if they want to they can make your life a whole lot harder by obtaining a judgment against you. By owing that money on a closed card, it is definitely holding your score down as well. Good luck!
Thank you, I'm paying them faithfully to try and get back to a point to where i can open an account with them ... I hope by the first of the year.
