Shopping Cart Trick- advice needed

So as suggested in many forum posts on here, I used the shopping cart trick to get approved for a Loft card with a CL of $250. I was hoping for Eddie Bauer and Victorias Secret as well, but with everything I have tried, I have had no luck. I am not looking to get a whole bunch of these cards, but is there a trick I am missing? I tried clearing cookies and my browser's cache, but still no luck. Are some stores more likely to give you the pop-up than others? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

It's a YMMV. Plus, I would caution you for getting a whole bunch of cc's from one lender ( ESP in a short time) and store cards.

I am just wondering- why the caution? Is there any harm in getting 2 or 3 new cards, all with soft pulls? I wouldn't want to get more than that, just so my average age of my credit doesn't get killed. Is there another reason not to take advantage of this trick, at least in moderation? Thanks!

If u grab em all at once or in a short period of time especially from the same lender it'll look like your desperately looking for credit...which can backfire...
