Shopping Cart Trick

Does anyone have any recent information on the Shopping Cart Trick? Is is still a working entity? Has anyone had success getting cards? Which cards are more likely to be approved?  Do any actual credit cards work? i.e. Comenity Sportsmans  Guide Visa.

Thank you everyone in advance.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

Even though the title includes 2024, it doesn't appear that updated, but people were getting some success in 2023

Shopping Cart Trick 2024 - Get Credit Cards Without The Hard Pull - Doctor Of Credit

It references @FireMedic1 list, maybe that is more current?

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

I tried the SCT for the Comenity SMG a few years back -  it backfired as I got a HP.   However,  I did receive the Visa version.  Card has been closed after about 3 years with it.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

If you are an iPhone user, I believe there have been reports of the SCT being helpful for the Apple Card.

That was a great question, and something I had been wondering about myself. SCT used to be "the talk of the town" around here.

Right, but even at its peak, there were warnings not to overdo it!  Some  people got lots of tiny limit cards at stores they never use which didn't really help

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

I got the Sportsmans guide Visa via the SCT in 2017 but nothing since. That card isn't bad because it's a normal Visa card so it might be worth going for if the trick still works

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

With the SCT trick, you have to be extremely careful. A few years ago, this was a hot topic. A few posters opened multiple accounts with Comenity using this method only to have them all closed. My advice is open them if you are going to actually shop there and space them out a few months to 6 months apart.

From my personal experience, the Sportsman Guide Visa and the Toyota Visa were SP's. The ones on Victoria Secret and Williams Sonoma(when it was Comenity) turned into HP's. I opened them because Mrs. Guyatthebeach wanted stuff from them. The VS card closed last year because there are no stores near us anymore.

Also the one from Overstock turned into a HP, but the one from Wayfair was a SP.

It definitely was. I was approved for several cards. Not all were store cards and even some of those has really good SCL. My Overstock SCL was well over $10K. I also had the Fuel Rewards CC.

From the Forums I learned that Victoria's Secret was an almost guarantee. While I never applied, I did advise those I was helping to apply via SCT.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

Thank you for the link. It is a bit dated. Overstock and A&F no longer issue cards. I had both😂

The SCT worked well for me. I remember trying for the J Crew card and it never being offered. The Fuel Rewards CC was probably the best one I had.
