Shopping cart trick...?

Received a pre-approval for the OneStopPlus credit card. I wish it was for the Visa version. I won't be adding anymore store only cards. Fingerhut and VS are enough. Any future cards must come with the ability to be used other non-specific places. Anyone know if they are like Walmart and eventually upgrade you to the Visa version?

I just did the trick for JCrew- approved for $300

Congratulations , i was trying for about two months straight for an Jcrew , and it would never pop for me so i gave up. Applied for regular cash back card instead

Go online after your 6th statement and request a CLI and it will most likely get you another $200 ore more.  It is only a SP (soft pull) and if you don't get it they send you a letter explaining why.  Comenity is a great way to avoid a HP for an account that grows.  If your credit scores increase dramatically, you can get a bigger CLI.   But $200-300 is typical.

I tried a couple just for kicks and it definitely works. I got popups for 500 dollar pre approvals for Victoria's Secret, jcrew, and sport men's guide. Pretty neat trick. I didn't pull the trigger on any of them but it's very useful knowledge for the future.
Just another validation that the shopping cart trick is real :-)

I just tried J Crew and got the pre-approval message, but I couldn't see a limit on there anywhere?

The CL typically displays toward the end of your acceptance of the pre-approval offer.

Congratulations on getting it to pop for you, i gave up after three months of trying with j crew , and i never got it to pop.
