Should I Pull the Trigger on an Amex App?

Hi all - I have another CC application question.  This one is with regards to AMEX.  My understanding is that they almost exclusively pull Experian when reviewing an application.  The reason this is important is because I noticed a couple of accounts on all 3 of my credit reports were reporting "Account disputed by consumer", when in fact I was not disputing the accounts and all information was being reported positively and correctly.

I was able to get Experian to remove the language from report quickly over the phone (literally within minutes).  TU and EQ have proven to be much more difficult to deal with.  In fact, for EQ I actually have to go in and Dispute a Dispute, which is not a dispute at all!  Smiley Happy

Anyway, my EX FICO in October was over 750 (found this out during a mortgage refi).  I have no negatives whatsoever on my EX report and no disputed items on that report.  Should I go ahead and apply for the Amex or should I wait until the other 2 bureaus "resolve" the non-dispute disputes??

I guess I should add that I am hesitant to apply b/c TU advises you not to apply for new credit during a dispute as it can impact a decision....

With an EX FICO of 750, the world is yours. I would apply if I were you; I wouldn't worry about the disputes. I have some of the disputes on my CR and I just got a BCE

Probably won't be a big deal for the CC, but could be a problem down the road.  Here's a thread to review for help on getting the disptue comments removed: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Mortgage-Loans/Best-Way-to-Remove-quot-Account-In-Dispute-quot-for-M...

Starting Score: ~500 (12/01/2008)
Current Score: EQ 681 (04/05/13); TU 98 728 (01/06/12), TU 08? 760 (provided by Barclay 1/2/14), TU 04 728 (lender pull 01/12/12); EX 742 (lender pull 01/12/12)
Goal Score: 720

Re: Should I Pull the Trigger on an Amex App?

Thanks Walt, that thread is right on topic and extremely useful.  I've definitely been through some of that frustration in the past couple of days.  Talk about being given the runaround for something that should literally be fixed with a phone call.

I'm definitely not stopping on getting that language removed b/c I understand how big of a hindrance that can be when going through a home purchase or refi.  Crazy.

AAofA is 4yrs 6mos, with the oldest over 13.  No lates, no CO, all reports have zero negative info.  Utilization on reports is just over 10%.  Not too worried about approval, but I definitely want to apply when I think I can get the highest initial limit.
