I would assume that the jewler that you bought it from is also the one that did the repair?
Also, you cannot disoute something that you didnt pay for, i.e., if the watch was damaged during a repair attempt that was not at the time of the original purchase, and there was no charge for the repair, it would be VERY hard to dispute anything!

If the seller damaged the watch you purchased, you can dispute it if they break the item.
I once had a double charge on my cc from Chase. I think it was with Subway. The CSR didn't even bother with opening a case or contacting the merchant. He just straight up credited me $10 as a 'good will' type of deal. I assume that's what happened here.
Did you really just call capital one to have a $10 chargeback placed on a small buisness for some little nicks on your watch? Primarily because you were too chicken to confront the store owner in person or even have the decency to give the owner a call and let them know what happened?
You walked out of the store knowing full well your watch was damaged and made it all the way home. Please don't say you didn't notice until later because everyone with an IQ that isn't in the negative numbers will give an item like a new watch a once over after getting it back and having it slid clear across a counter as you claim.
The problem is now a days people are wholly scared of confrontation and confuse it with combat, instead they take the weasel way out. DI'd you have any clue that when you call for a chargeback the buisness itself is charged a penalty fee ALONG with losing the money from your sale? There's also consequences for the small business after a certain percentage of transactions are charged back. Did you care at all before you called and made that really brave and heroic phone call and own3d that 10 bucks?

Disputed yesterday and got my full $10 back from capital one. Maybe I should give the jeweler a call now?
Really $10! And now you go back to the jeweler. Why didn't you go to them first to see if they could fix it?
Wow, this isn't the way to solve problems, shot first then ask questions later.......
