Should I join the Chase Credit Card Family? I have American Express?

Currently have several cards with low utilizations. No late or missed payments and credit score is 709 across the board.

I have American Express $30,000 limit  $2,500 used

Penfed Gold Card $7,500 limit $0 used

penfed blue card $5,000 limit $32 owed

discover one  $5000 limit $450 owed

State employees credit union $7,500 limit

$800 owed

i know i need to pay Down tge remaining balances and keep total utilization down to 10 or less %.

Should I just stick with my current cards or I've been hearing good things about chase credit card. Cash back gas etc??  Chase freedom etc

I also do gave a car loan and payment through Penfed.

thanks for any guidance.

I don't think you should add a credit card because you've heard good things about Chase. Ifyou see a card that will be useful to you, then go for it. But if you don't really need it, I think it's better not to go adding new credit lines.

While I agree with @SouthJamaica advice, I was just amused as the post contains SJ's signature line, so we have someone with 5 cards being told by someone with 35 cards better not to add new lines unless it's really needed....

When you list what is owed, are those balances that you are carrying month to month and paying interest on?  Or do you PIF and you're just giving us a snapshot in time?  If you are carrying any balances, I'd recommend that your focus should be paying those credit card balances off before focusing on any new cards.

Getting new cards can be addictive until you get to double digits and then quickly realize it's a chore and no longer fun.  Kind of wish that I stayed at 5
