Thanks! Very exciting! Hopefully credit steps gives me a another 500 in a couple months but if not...eh, I guess I can wait :-)
did you get an email from capital one about credit steps program? if so, you will get that credit step cli for sure.
Let me ask this: I heard somewhere that you can get an automatic increase after 5 on time payments? That's what I want.
And actually I'm 3 payments away.

I have 2 capital one cards, the platinum and QS1. I opened the accounts in March. Its been almost 4 months. Should I request a CLI or wait for them to auto increase? I'm seeing people post about cap one increases after 2 months so it makes me wonder if I could get one. Its a soft pull right? Also, if they deny the CLI, will they still give one at the 5 or 6 statement? I'm in credit steps so both cards are 300$ CL. each.
IMHO best bet with Cap One is:
1. use the cards a lot
2. pay them down to zero quickly over and over
3. don't ask for cli, just wait for auto cli's

if it's new account, then you're probably on credit steps program which grants automatic cli on 6th statement.
