I went to see what became of Cardless, and stumbled onto the existence of this card.
5% on all stores listed in the directory of a Simon Mall (with 5 purchases made that statement period, 10k spend in yearly purchases cap). Including food courts, anchor department stores, Apple stores... etc. No FTF because they have 42 Malls/Outlets located internationally as well.
Uh. If you live near Simon Malls, like I do, this seems very very good if you do any in-store shopping. King of Prussia has 450+ stores and 30 "eateries" alone.
This card was not on my radar. It's definitely turned my head.

For those near a Simon mall that they use, this looks pretty competitive. One negative is the need to use 5 times per billing cycle (I guess Bilt is similar) to get any rewards, But this will give 5% at many stores that have no better alternatives. And as @MissLiz points out, with the giftcard offers it could be up to 10%

Yes, it would really be geo-situation dependent. For myself, P2 shops over at KoP (which is the 3rd largest mall in the country, and is basically a mall masquerading as a town). And the mall I grew up with, at my parents, is also a Simon Mall. And there's one located in the NJ town my brother lives in. Some states have a huge number, others have none. I don't go to KoP often, but when I do it makes itself SUPER clear that it's a Simon Mall, so you would know if you do.
If you ever had the AmEx EveryDay or EveryDay Preferred you are no stranger to "make a certain number of purchases every cycle for point bump", and it sounds like that sort of thing is common for the SYW card as well. It's really not as much of a burden as you'd think... you just break up an early purchase into separate swipes (easier if it's self checkout at grocery, mind you). If you're visiting a food court with someone, have their meal rung up separately for example. I don't think most cashiers would have a problem with breaking a purchase up into 2 or 3 different swipes, as that's the kind of that that happens when you're making purchases for someone else in addition to yourself and want to have separate receipts. It just involves some extra micro management, which no one around here is stranger to.

Also dont forget the normal cardless thing of only ever having 1 card through them ever.
