So I get home from work today, and have a message waiting from American Express asking me to call them. I call the number back, and the automated system says thank you for calling the AMEX FR team
. Uh oh, so I called the extension I was given and the lady that left the message answered. So after the verification questions she asks me about my current phone numbers, email address, current job and pay. So she says that they are going to need a document from me where they can take a look at my 2011 tax return. I told her, I'm not going through this hassle, because to tell you the truth I was planning on closing this account before the AF hits in September, because I find I get better rewards on my other cards, and I am not going to pay $25 for something I don't use. So she went ahead and closed the account. She said, well we hate to lose a cardmember, I wanted to say "yea well, look at the kind of crap that you're company is pulling" but I remained silent. So no more Zync, and I will most likely never apply for another AMEX again.
Have you done anything weird to trigger a FR?
Anyway, good for you for refusing to give them your tax returns. I think that is completely invasive and unnecessary, I mean its not like they're financing a $300k house for you, so why should they have that information?
I haven't done anything weird to trigger it, the last thing I charged was like $3.00 and that was 2 weeks ago. But anyway I say GOOD RIDDANCE AMEX. Now I'm mad because I didn't ask them what triggered it. It is probably all my new accounts and CLI's and new inquiries.

How long have you had the Zync and how much do you normally charge monthly on it??

It doesn't have to be your last transaction. Look at your transactions over the last 3 months and see if you find something?
I've had the card since 09/12, and monthly charges are about $8.
FR= Flocking Riddonkulus.

Good for you! I would do the same.

Not that I would give them my tax returns either but didn't you say you had 82 inq's ?
