Looks like this happened yesterday. It used to be you get a point every day and after 4 consecutive days, they give you 5 additional points. Now they require you to log in for 7 consecutive days and then they will give 10 points. Each point is worth a cent if redeemed for one of Sofi's products.
Either way, it's not a lot of money, ~$8.20 for the old method and ~$5.20 for the new method over a year. But it was a nice way to get some pennies just logging into the app and checking your investments, credit card, and/or bank account.
It's not even worth it anymore since missing just one day resets the clock to a week. So the amount they have to pay out is most likely going to be substantially reduced. Which is what they were aiming for, I'm sure.
I only got the card for the cell phone protection, but the way they keep cutting things makes me think it won't be there forever.
The member rewards program isn't related to the credit card. Anyone can join the member rewards program as far as I understand. I don't see any reason to be nervous about the credit card.
In addition to the 30 day 4% referral bonus program, they have now launced a first year 3% cashback up to 60,000 points ($600), as long as you have direct deposit to SoFi Money.
I still open the SoFi app daily, since I'm a little obsessive. I don't really use any of their accounts any longer but it's a few free cents I get while walking around the house. The 10 day streak though may make it so I put myself out of my misery and just back burner the app for good.
