Soft Pull CLI's

We all know (or are in the process of learning) that all card issuers are not created equal.

Some offer credit generously while others are stingy, some pay no mind to little usage while others take offense and hit you with the dreaded CLD.

One distinction though, I find particularly useful.  However, I'm having a difficult time nailing it down...  Soft Pull Credit Line Increases!

Armed with the right knowledge, one could go in search of higher credit lines with relative safety - even while gardening.

Hence this thread... I'd like to build a list of issuers that are known for SP's on consumer initiated CLI requests.

Off the bat, a couple come to mind, but are there others?  What has been your experience?

 - AMEXCLI with SP (dare I say unanimously?)

 - GECRBCLI with SP for most cards, but not all?  Is it true that Care Credit for example, is an exception?

 - CITIIndeterminate - I hear they used to have a short and long form that could give you a clue, but no more.

 - Others?

Share your knowledge and experience, I'll keep this first post updated as time goes on for future ease of reference.

I've searched the boards and not found anything along these lines.  Mod's - please redirect thread if it exists and I've just not found it.

Re: Soft Pull CLI's

CareCredit starts as a soft and if they can't approve, they'll offer to HP.

Re: Soft Pull CLI's

for what its worth, card holder initiated capone (certain prime/superprime cards?) is a soft........of course the point is moot since very few clis are ever given........

Not necessarily. People have reported HPs from Cap One CLI requests. Some may be soft but it may also be hard. No telling with Cap One.

Re: Soft Pull CLI's

I can't speak for certainty, but I can tell you my experience.

I got CLI from BoA 3 times in the last 14 months with all softs.

11.10 - via phone, soft on EX and EQ

7.11 - via phone, also PC and added DW as AU, no pulls on all three from that time???

12.11 - via luv button, soft on EX, but I had just pulled by EQ in Nov, so I can't say for certain that there is no pull on EQ.

Re: Soft Pull CLI's

I got a CLI from CITI late last month with a soft. Had to fill out the form for income, etc. and it said they MAY pull a CR. I asked for a $3K increase, they came back and offered $1.2K, said no CR was pulled. There was an option to continue for the requested amount but I assume that would have been a hard. As with so many CC company policies, YMMV.
