Hi all,
I have begun cleaning house. Closed out Ebates, ridiculous interest rate, rarely used as dont buy enough from Ebate stores to make its 3% the only reason to keep it, have other 2% cards the loss of 1% is no biggie. Also kicked Kohls to the curb, it never has gone anywhere in limit and dont shop at Kohls enough to warrant keeping it this was my oldest account but it wont make a difference in the long term as I have others 1 year younger, customer service did the dance pretty good trying to get me to keep it. Feels good to get rid of dead weight. Will be taking a look at some others over the month to possibly dump as well. Have a great Labor Day
So what are your remaining cards (or favorites, if the list is long)?

Still have 18 others. I will list the ones that are daily drivers
Fidelity Visa and FNBO Bucksback Visa for their 2% returns, my new Huntington Voice for Walmart return at 3%, BoA Cash Rewards for 3% Gas, Chase AARP for 3% gas/restaurants and my Discover for the 5% deals of the quarter.
I used to use ebates for certain MS purposes, but when that stopped being available I had planned to close. But to my surprise, when I wanted a new laptop earlier this year, ebates had a one day special giving something like 15% back on HP.com, + the 3% from the card. So I got around $250 on that single purchase, so I decided to keep it a little longer! (Yes, it's possible that I could have saved more getting it somewhere else, but I couldn't find it cheaper on line, and that is what I was going to do anyway).
But had I not decided to look for aa computer that day, then ebates would have been closed.....
Since I came to understand the disorder and spaghetti logic behind Citi Price Rewind, I see savings from store cards to be often illusory.
I have turd crust around the upper rim of my toilet.
I keep a dozen credit cards, no matter how high the APR might be, because I never keep a big balance on any of them.
Spread $5,000 of bills out across 12 cards rather than 2 and you're ability to satisfy each lender, in regards to repayment, is so much easier.
I need to clean house but thoughts of those days with a $500 Barclays Rewards MC won't allow me to cancel cards with $5,000 and more credit lines.

That reminds me, I need to check Newegg this weekend
Nice Gdale...it's funny, I was just thinking about that last night.
I am going to consolidate and find my broom again in the spring. When I closed 3 cards this last winter, it was a great feeling.
Have a great weekend!
