Re: State Farm CLI Succes!! (Yeah)

Congrats!

my SFB cc made a yr a few months ago, used the online luv button and also received 1k and HP on TU... the increase seemed a bit light in xchange for a HP, so sent secure msg asking for c. 5k, to be based on the same pull, and to my surprise they approved.

I think after the 1st yr with the card, a card holder becomes CLI eligible at 6 month intervals.

Re: State Farm CLI Succes!! (Yeah)

Congrats to you!  I closed my State Farm account.  A HP for CLIs doesn't sit well with me.  I had a long conversation with one of the reps.  She got very sassy with me.  She She told me SF can make hard pulls on its customers credit reports whenever they want.  I ask her why would SF do that knowing a HP can decrease ones score.  I told her to keep SF from having a reason to make a HP on my credit report, close my account immediately.   That was the end of the SF error for me.  I used to have CD, rental  and car insurance with them.

At least the csr provided accurate information, that's a plus, any current lender can pull soft or hard.

Essentially asked for a 'recon' on the 1k CLI they initially offered

sending a secure msg from SFB online, just a day or so after they had approved the standard 1k (decided to ask for larger increase after noticing they pulled hard, in an effort to maximize utility of HP)

thought perhaps a 50/50 chance since PIF, low overall UTI, 740s TU FICO, etc but still suprised at the affirmative result.

They should have informed me that a HP was needed like any decent bank would do.  I did not give them my consent to make an HP on my reports.  They process CLIs manually.   The request is sent via email in a form format.

Yeah kinda caught off guard, since I didn't notice any indication on the form explicitly saying it would be an HP either.

Nontheless, we all give consent upon signing up for most major cc, the reference to it is routinely included in the t&c.
