Hi all,
I logged into my SF account to pay my credit card bill and it looks like sometime later this year // early next year US Bank will take over SF's banking divison and credit cards. Eventually US Bank will send me a cobranded US Bank/SF credit card.
This was suprising news to me, as I rarely use my SF credit card. How does US Bank compare? Would it be difficult to eventually request a PC from this new cobranded card to their platnium or cash+ card?
Thanks!
R
For one thing, they dont wear Khakis at US Bank😁
Every us bank dealings I've had have been fantastic. They can be conservative at first but once they trust you they become very good from my experience.
Your credit line and everything with it should stay in tact so growth shouldn't be an issue unless you want more credit.
I don't know how state farm has been with the card but I'd be happy if I had the card and us bank or their elan subsidiary was taking over.
For reference us bank/elan has my fidelity card with a 60k limit, my BMW MasterCard with a 30k limit, and a regular elan card at 7k so I'm sitting with almost 100k in credit with us bank/elan
They have definitely treated me well over the years and have never taken any account actions on me over the years
I received a letter from State Farm Visa that by the end of the year they are selling the credit card operation and car loans to US Bank.
They are exiting these products and will not issue new ones.
My question is;
I opened this card due to the fact that the cash back rewards is 5% for insurance premiums including premiums paid to any insurance company not just State Farm Insurance. Therefore, does anyone know if US back will honer this rewards program or is it just going to fall by the wayside ?
Did you mean 3% cash back for all insuance and not 5%?
The state farm visa website has always advertised them as 3% cb
yes 3% my mistake, but still, is US bank going to honor this rewards program?

Until USB makes an official advertisement as far as their promo is concerned I don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty what's gonna happen next.
They can kill or reduce that CB or bump it up to a higher 5% category like the utilities/cellphone CB with the Cash+!
"Wait-and-see" is your best course of action IMHO.

Right, and the same thing would be true even if State Farm kept the card, rewards programs can be changed at any time. But transferring makes modification somewhat more likely....

Nothing really special 3x on insurance payments, 2x on some other categories.
