How long do you get to pay the statement? 30 days? You could wait it out and see what happens.
I'm in a similar situation, undeliverable package, return processing after statement. I went ahead and PIF and then bought something else so my account wouldn't be negative.
Why worry about that?
Well I guess in the end it was nothing to even concern over.....![]()
It turns out, I had a misunderstanding with Synchrony about my changed due date recently but I guess so did a previous agent.
It turns out, my statement won't even print until 1/12 and I already took the item back today.
I thought they said my due date won't take effect until my Feb month but they meant it will process in Jan and be effective due date in Feb.

Not too worried, but pretty sure they like it when you owe them money not the other way around lol
It was a natural spend though

sorta following this post.. but what if its a larger payment like a $2-500 payment being returned but only after statement prints, and you organically spend more than that, then what do you do?
example: 5k limit, $2300 balance return $500, statement prints $2300 return brings you to $1800 but you spend $1000 after print so you're balance is $2800. do you pay the $2300 by due or do you pay $1800 since 1k charge was after statement printed and return of $500 "lowered" statement balance?
I guess Synchrony is very efficent.....![]()
Even though my statement didn't actually print on 12/20 due to me changing the due date, I noticed my CRs actually still knew my updated (well updated a few days ago) balance even though that normally only happens when a statement is cut.
