Gemb was my first store card I got when I was rebuilding, the PayPal Smart Connect Card, 500CL, my scores had to be in the 585-610 range back then, if you do a lot of online shopping, most stores accept PayPal nowadays.
Best of Luck!

I got a Walmart Store card and a Macy's store card when I was just beginning to rebuild. I got a Fingerhut card too that I never use, but they only report to two CB's. If I recall, my scores were much lower than the ones you have listed.
****UPDATE****
I decided Monday morning that I would bite the bullet & apply for a Macy's card..... After 10 hours of waiting for an email I received a call from a Macy's rep confirming that I applied online for a Macy's card (due to fraud alert on EX).... I asked her how's it looking & she responded "I have you approved, I just have to complete the application confirming that I spoke to you"..... I was ultra excited until 5 minutes later I received a letter from Macy's stating 10-14 days...... UGH
I decided to call the backdoor # for a RECON & the rep told me I was approved but unfortunately when you apply online the system the reps at the call centers use don't have access to a key system the helps them verify your address...... I asked her how come since they have a copy of my credit report. She goes on to say because of issues with people trying to commit fraud, if they're unable to verify any key points of an application the customer usually gets declined. That it's always best to apply in store because the computers in the stores are fitted to check ID &verify addresses on the spot!
She told me what I need to do is go to a Macy's STORE & reapply - sure it will be another hard hit BUT based on my input on the first app I WILL BE APPROVED!!!!
I will be going to Macy's today "testing the waters"..... I only have a total of 6 INQ's on EX - 3 that drop off by 05/2012 when I plan to apply for my Dream AMEX once my score gets to where it needs!!!!!
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)if they said you have been approved, WAIT. dont take another hard inq!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm new to this whole credit thing, however that just doesnt seem right. If its just an ID thing, dont they have a process where you can fax in your ID/SSN? Or show it in store? Having to re-apply AND take another HH just doesnt make sense - nor is it customer friendly. If the orignal rep said you were approved, why couldnt they just provided a number for you to fax in ID?
I'm sorry you have to go through all that. Good luck in your quest.

Went to Macy's to reapply & after waiting 3 minutes for a credit analyst to call me (EX fraud alert) I was instantly approved...... Good thing about it is I was able to get the analyst & his supervisor to guarantee (along with their names & ID #'s just in case) that it would only be a total of 1 hard INQ since it was done within 1 day. I've checked my 3rd party credit monitoring service & it only shows 1 INQ. I'll let you guys know of any changes..........
Meanwhile - I'm super happy with my new Macy's card!!!!!! Before I left the store I was able to get them to tell me how much my CL is & they said it is $300.... Not bad for a rebuilder!! Now I have to start shopping & bring that limit up before they start reporting limits come this winter!!!!
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)Oh & just to be clear..... After the 10-14 day email when I called again they said that it was DECLINED that's when I decided to call the RECON #.
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)

Congrats on your Macy's card - glad you're super happy with it!
Don't worry too much about shopping - when Macy's had GLI's, they grew with or without a bunch of shopping. Use it moderately and only for things you would purchase anyways and of course only for those things that you can PIF. Macy's has an outrageous APR - 24.99% or some such. Definitely not a card to carry a balance on.
And they have a great sale starting today (they always have a great sale somewhere in the store starting in the next day or two......). But I'm needing to replace a blender this week......and they price match - plus the coupons - oh, yeah! ![]()
YES beamMEup!!!! The coupons!!!!! LOL!!!!
Honest;y speaking I've always wanted a Macy's card.... I'm a New Yorker!!! But after all the headaches I've gone thru getting my credit where it is - & I still have lost of work to do - I only intend to buy with cash in hand. That way I can charge my purchases on the Macy's card & then pay the balance with cash at the customer service desk... Exactly what I do with Walmart.
Starting Scores: EQ 447 (01/02/2017), TU 476 (01/02/2017), EX 456 (01/02/2017)Awesome!!!!!!!! Great inspiration to me. I think I might apply myself. I really need a second card to assist with the rebuilding. It appears I'm about a year out from getting a real card so I need additional positive credit.
