Strategy to build credit limit increase - Want your opinion.

I would move $4k from the Marriot to the Freedom to get it to $5k and request it to be a Visa Signature. I would then send Chase a secure message asking if they will honor the 70k point bonus instead of the 50k one. 

After you get the points, you can do what you want with the Marriot card and its limit. I suggest keeping it since the annual free night makes up for the AF.

I have just now applied for the CO Venture and was approved for 20k. I will move this new limit to another old account with 3,200k limit. Ok, I now must remove my gardening icon. Whoops!

I'm thinking of doing the same later this year.  It seems you get bigger, better cl's when you get a new card as opposed to asking for a cli.

Congrats on this approval also.  CAP 1 right now does not allow the combining of limits.
