Sub-Prime/Prime

I thought a person's FICO score was supposed to be a reflection of a person't credit history.  How can a so called sub prime CC or a loan from a sub prime lender factor into a score.  If I have a Discover card and a Cap 1 card and I make my payments on time every month and I am never late on either card how can the fact that 1 is sub prime have any kind of negative affect on a persons score?

Re: Sub-Prime/Prime

A sub-prime card is the Card Holders thoughts more than anything else.

Lots of Prime issuers have sub prime terms and Sub-prime issuers with Prime terms.

Cards issued from Banks do look more favorably-
I don't think this plays too much into the scoring formula though.

Now-
With loans that is a WHOLE different story
Unsecured loans not from a bank are often considered "Consumer finance" loans and are considered negative in FICO's scoring.
