Re: Successful PC from Quicksilver One to Quicksilver

The chat reps are very helpful. I prefer to do that vs calling over the phone, unless it's absolutely necessary to call. The wait time is less as well

Re: Successful PC from Quicksilver One to Quicksilver

It's great that folks are getting 'love' from Capital One for the PCs, but it's by no means automatic.

I have a eight year old QuickSilver One I've been trying to upgrade for two years.  I tried again on chat two weeks ago, and all the rep could offer me to get out of the annual fee was to close my account - and he told me he could even do it over the chat for me; I declined.  I spoke with someone with the EO last week, and while I believe the person I got genuinely wanted and tried to help me, something about my account prevented her from doing so.  I thought it was because it was previously a HSBC account, but others haven't had a problem having their former HSBC cards changed.  She did advise me to call back once the fee actually posts on July 6 to see if anything can be done at that point.

Again, I'm very happy for everybody that has been able to get theirs changed - and I'll be trying again next week! - but it's by no means a given that if you call it will automatically be granted.  I would say hope for the best, but don't think it's 'just you' if they do end up saying no.  YMMV.

Re: Successful PC from Quicksilver One to Quicksilver

I spoke with a rep when I initiated the chat, it wasn't a special department. I asked if he could send me a chip embedded card on my other capital one card since I travel out of the country. I know eventually, they're going to upgrade all of their cards to chip embedded, They took care of it without any issues.

Re: Successful PC from Quicksilver One to Quicksilver

I was able to get the EO to remove my annual fee from my QuickSIlver One in May. My card used to be an HSBC as well. They also upped my limit from $750 to $5,000. Now I just want a WMC or WEMC edition.

Scores as of 06/15/2015 EX-761 | EQ-785 | TU-782
Cards: Chase Freedom - $12500 | CapitalOne Quicksilver - $5000 | Amex EveryDay - $21800 | Discover it - $21300

That's awesome!  Hopefully I'll have some luck with them next week when I call them back.  <fingers crossed!>  Smiley Happy

How long should you wait to ask after you get your card.

UncleB, I am having the same issue that you are having.  I have an old converted HSBC card.  They will not let me PC it, nor will they waive the annual fee.  I am tired of paying the fee, as you can see from my sig  . . . this is my only fee card and I don't even really need this card.  I'm seriously thinking about closing it before my December fee comes due!!! It my only Cap One card and I don't want a triple pull to apply for somehing else.

We do have very similar circumstances... my QuickSilver One credit line is even similar to yours ($2920).  Like you I don't 'need' the card, but it's one of my oldest and surprisingly the APR happens to by my lowest at 14.9%.  It's just too bad the AF is a whopping $79.  The last two years they have credited back $40, making the fee equal to what new QS1 holders are charged, but I guess I just expect a little more for an eight-year old account, especially when the rep actually tells me that my account is "strong". (The entire time I've had the account, even when it was HSBC, I've never been late or gone over the credit line)

Back in March, anticipating this delimma (once again) I did 'bite the bullet' and took the triple-hard-pull for my no-AF QS Visa Signature, which has already been granted a $2K CLI just last week, so I'm fairly certain CapOne doesn't have a problem with me (or you), but they definitely have issues with our old accounts.  If they will agree to pay half the fee again, I'll likely let it ride one more time, but there's no way I'll pay the full AF, especially with the QS Visa.  If I wanted to pay an annual fee, I would just get a Venture and be done with it... at least it comes with a signing bonus to ease the pain.  Smiley Frustrated

Re: Successful PC from Quicksilver One to Quicksilver

Just chatted and they will not upgrade my QS1. They tell me there are no offers. I have tried to upgrade it for a few months now.

I love my cards but the chat reps have no pull at all.

250k+ CL and climbing.
